Waorani territory

Adventure in Yasuni National Reserve. Share ancient customs like, fishing and hunting, Shaman rituals, visit a Waorani community and stay over with a Waorani family. This is a very flexible expedition as we count on a very organized logistics team and bilingual guides. 

The Yasuni Nation Reserve is the largest protected area in Ecuador and one of the most important in South America.  The Yasuni Reserve is considered a world heritage site by the Unesco. 

Itinerary:

Day 1) From Misahualli we will travel by car for three hours until we arrive to the motor canoe location. Our travel continues on a motor canoe to meet the Tepapary Community. Our first navigation just offers a glimpse of the amount of nature we will see.  Lunch will be served at noon, before continuing our travel to the Tepapary Community, where we will camp over the night. 

Day 2) After breakfast we will hike though the jungle along with a Waorani native. He will show us his knowledge  about the jungle; the medicinal plants, survival techniques. We will also observe wild birds and monkeys. During the after noon we will eat lunch and after we will fish in the river. Our catch will be the dinner that will be served before camping over the night. 

 Day 3) After breakfast we will hike through the jungle exploring its flora and fauna until we arrive to a wonderful lagoon, where Hotzin birds are found. We will have lunch before meeting a Waorani family during the afternoon. They will show us about the manufacturing of handcrafts and practices of dart blowing. We will dine there and set our  base camp before one last hike, but this one during the night time. 

Day 4) To observe more monkeys and birds we will get the early bird navigating in a traditional canoe through the river. By the end of the canoe ride we will eat breakfast before settling a small base camp by the shore of the river. We will lay down until another small hike though the jungle. After returning we will eat dinner before a navigating on a traditional canoe to observe caimans.  

Day 5) We will raise the base camp after eating breakfast and we will keep on navigating on a motor canoe up the river where we will continue traveling back by car to Tena. Where our tour ends. 

The price includes: Accommodation, full meals, access to purified water the 24 hours, transportation, plastic boots, native guide and bilingual, activities expenses, entrance fee to the Waorani territory.
